Can't reinstall windows 7 on dual boot with XP

I did a dual boot install of Win7 and XP on separate HDDs. Plugged in one drive installed XP with F6 AHCI drivers. Then plugged in 2nd drive and installed Win7, loaded AHCI drivers from USB flash. Everything went great, no need for any EasyMBR tool. I would turn on computer and get boot option for Win7 or Earlier Version.....and still had access to all restore points in Win7.

Reason for reinstall - I was having problems getting rid of everything related to Nero, wiped some things out of registry that I guess XP needed and it would not start all the way. I tried to run a repair on XP and it worked, but lost my boot option for Win7.
Fine, I thought I'll just reinstall both OS's again since it was so easy the 1st time. XP installed with no problem.
I booted up with the Win7 cd, chose the Custom/Advanced Option
High lighted the old partition and deleted it
Chose New from unallocated space and went with the recommended size of about 114442 MB (120GB SSD)
Clicked format and the blue wheel spun for 5 seconds and stopped (Problem 1)
Clicked load drivers and browsed to the USB flash card that has the AHCI drivers on it
Chose the same folder as the first time I did the dual boot without a hitch, got error message (problem 2)

Problem 1 - Why is it not formatting for more than 5 seconds, should take at least 45 minutes from what I remember?
Problem 2 - When trying to load AHCI drivers why am I getting the following message (No signed device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers) ?

Please help, have done this before with no problems and now can't for some reason.

Why would you reinstall both OS"s after XP was repaired but you only lost the WIn7 boot? All you needed to do was install EasyBCD to XP to add WIn7 back to the Boot Menu? Or Mark Win7 Partition Active
then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times until Win7 starts and then add XP using EasyBCD. Takes 5 minutes.

You're attempting to apply XP methods to the Win7 install which no longer apply: Quick Format is all that's used during install, and there is no need to add storage drivers as they are all in the installer. In fact a prompt for drivers during 7 install almost always means a bad installer.

Gee sorry, I'm not some computer wiz, that's why I'm here asking for help. I didn't know I could use EasyBCD to just add win7 back into the boot menu.
Problem solved, got the latest drivers directly from the Gigabyte site, (instead of using the ones from the cd) and Windows 7 installed fine and duel boot working fine as well.

No reason to be sorry. I thought you'd like to know this for future reference, that's all.

I'm glad it's working fine for you now.
