    Computer won't start

    Howdy

I have a slight problem. Went to start computer and it comes up with an error stating -Disk Boot Error- put in system disk and press enter. I did that putting in the windows installation disk but couldn't find an option that worked without formatting. I don't want to format yet as there is some files that I want to recover first. Do I have a chance of starting it without doing a fresh install? I'm sending u this from my phone.

    Thanks

If the hard drive isn't completely corrupted, you could load Linux (run) from a CD and access the files and save them to some media.

If you don't have another PC, get a friend to download Ubuntu Linux and burn an ISO disc. You can boot from that disc and run Ubuntu Desktop Linux from the disc and if lucky access the files you want to save.
