Windows 7 installation disk not working?

I bought one of amazon and it's not working, I don't know if I'm not doing it right or the disk is crap.
this is what i bought Amazon.com: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Boot Disc - Reinstall - Repair - Restore - Recover - Windows 7

I tried restarting it after putting the disk in, I tried advanced recovery methods in control panel, but it says "could not find the required files".

    BTW, I have an Asus.

Hello BD mate seems to me you have bought some repair disk for an already installed system and not one that is a genuine M$ copy / version. I suspect like a few before you it looks like a system disk but in truth just another arty farty piece of softaware ( I stand to be corrected of course).

If I were you I would try the system restore if the machine came with 7 installed as the factory usually has a factory restore partition on it. If you let use know the specs of the machine ie the model etc then we might be able to help.

Frankly I would buy an OEM version and fresh install into a new drive say and SSD for the boot with a second drive for data. This way you avoid the bloatware is avoided.

Another option is this Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 read it carefully and if you have a friend with an original Microsoft installation disk then you can use that to install Windows using the activation code you (see the instructions re the ei.cfg removal tool)

If you are going to use the old drive (not good practice) you will need to clean it first or install over the top of the other install ( I am not a fan of doing that either) but the choice is yours.

What`s the problem, why did you buy that disc ?

You can make a system repair disc yourself on any Windows 7 machine.
