Windows xp setup error STOP: 0x0000007B

I have a compaq presario cq57 laptop previosly running windows 7 I took it somewhere to get the memory upgraded and they installed ubuntu for some reason so I wiped the hard drives and inserted my windows xp setup dvd and it always stops with this message:
a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you have seen this screeen, restart your computer. follow these steps: check for viruses, remove any newly installed hard drives, run CHDSK for hard drive corruption

I ran hard drive diagnostics and memory tests = no problems
viruses = I cant check for those it has no os
hard drives (newly installed) = I have never installed any hard drives on this computer and the memory upgrade never happened

the error code is: STOP: 0x0000007B

"How to slipstream SATA drivers into Windows XP setup CD, on your dual boot PC with Windows 7 or Vista"

SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD

nLite - Deployment Tool for the bootable Unattended Windows installation - Download

    Here is more info: https://www.google.com/#q=%22nlite%2...2+sata+drivers

    edit:

This is a better option: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Why are you trying to install a dead OS on that PC? Reinstall the Win7 version that came it which license you own for its life, and is listed on the COA sticker attached to PC along with Product key used for reinstall.

Everything needed to get and keep a perfect install is in Clean Reinstall Windows 7 including how to locate reinstall media if you don't have it. Let us know any questions you have.

Again, obtaining Win7 media along with everything else needed to get and keep a perfect install is discussed in Clean Reinstall Windows 7. You may need to borrow another PC to extract, unlock, burn or otherwise create the media.

What is the Win7 licensed version on COA sticker exactly? Is the key still readable?
