Windows 7 installation error - received "unexpected error"

Every year I do a clean install due to my kids installing software, etc. Today I attempted the clean install and received an error "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed, click OK to restart the installation".

I utilized the original Installation disk, wiped the HD and windows attempts to load. I have not altered anything to prevent windows not to load...I am at a loss on what to do. I am running it on a 64 bit, AsRock AMD series board. Thoughts?

Work through the steps which cover almost all installation failures: Windows 7 Installation Failure - Overcome

Even more importantly I would read through the steps for a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which compiles everything that works best in tens of thousands of installs we directly help with here. For example it is not necessary to do a reinstall more than once since modern back up imaging can replace the need to do them again.
