Okay thanks I don't mind fast boot in win-7 it's harmless
I believe in 8.1 and 10 it gets a little sticky with the fake shut down features or I guess more commonly known as Intel quick fire but I'll save all that for another day :)

It's OK enabled in BIOS but you need to disable Fast Boot within W8 or W10, it doesn't dismount the drives on shutdown so when you boot into W7 in runs a disk check every time.
Yea that's the sticky part :/
I've gotten used to using my easy hot swap case I believe it makes all of that a nonissue since no other drives are connected at the same time so there's no conflicts with other drives :)
Or at least on this machine I've seen no conflicts unless it was a external drive connected and as you say it is scanned for errors commonly caused by not dismounting in 10 mainly not sure if it happened in 8 or 8.1 can't remember it's been a while since I've loaded 8.1 and connected a external/ shut down and switched to 7 ?
I'll take your word for it though 8 and 10 are a lot alike in that respect = annoying
I believe my last test I uninstalled the external device and saw no prompt to scan for errors.
Crank up your Camcorder and turn it on already. That way you can record the smoke and flames (if any) :) :)
Just kidding.
I can imagine. Just finished re-reading the build thread, great stuff. The folks here are amazing. I love seeing this kind of cooperation.
I'm a tad anxious to see how it turns out. Should be an amazing system.
Do you see UEFI settings Mike: EFI, CSM, Legacy BIOS, UEFI first, Secure Boot etc?
If Clean Installing I'd enable all UEFI, disable Secure Boot, and leave CSM/Legacy to later if you need to add it. Do you see a UEFI DVD drive choice when triggering boot menu with disk in drive?
But if wanting to use existing 7 install you may need to Adjust Win7 to boot on new hardware with Paragon Adaptive Restore CD choosing CSM or Legacy settings if that's what your install is.
If needed post back pics of tabs showing settings choices.
I never rule out murphy's law
Okay everything is ready I guess
New UPS 1500 hooked up,
1 new Monitor ASUS VG248QE 24"
ASUS VG248QE 24" 1080p 144Hz 3D Gaming LED Monitor 90LMGG001Q022CUL - Micro Center
And keyboard
Which by the way the Logitech G710+ is freaking heavy lol but Micro Center matched Amazon's price which was 85.us instead of 140.us
Darn computer makes my desk look smaller
Building up courage now I got Absolute Vodka instead of Tequila and I have Malibu rum in the freezer to put out any flames :)
Boots as EFI DVD drive?
