Need to rebuild MBR for SSD System Drive UEFI
Motherboard: X58A UD3R
Intel SSD 520 Series 120Gb: System Drive
HD1: Data
HD2: Data
HD3: Data + MBR partition for SSD (now deleted)
I have a SSD and three normal Hard Drives. I believe that my MBR for my Windows installation was on one of the old hard drives because I erased the partition and now I get the "BOOTMGR is missing" error message on startup.
Now I try to enter Windows recovery utility via bootable USB but the windows installation cannot be located. I tried the bootsect /fixboot /fixmbr and the other one but to no avail. I tried using Partition Wizard to restore MBR to SSD drive but did not help. I did use GPARTED to mark the SSD partition as boot.
I think it may have to do with the SSD being in AHCI or SCSI mode?
Also, I get this message when I try to install Windows:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
I'm quite confused as to whether my disk is UEFI or not.
Any suggestions?
