So far so good!
Hello, My name is Rob and I can say that I am pretty much a noob when it comes to computer OS'. What I can say is that Windows 7 installed very easily on my 3 year old Everex (now defunct) Stepnote SA2050T. It originally shipped with XP media center edition and I managed to get Linux Ubuntu loaded up. I actually had Ubuntu 9.04 working very well after much internet research to get all of the hardware working (but the SD card reader would no longer work, which was a known Ubuntu issue). I had then upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 and I no longer could use some functionality like internet sharing with my Windows Mobile 6 cellphone. My company offers software at very competitive prices and I purchased Windows 7. I used the install disk to repartition and format the Everex HD from the Linux OS and then proceeded with the install of the Win7. Everything went great, it took about an hour and then a little more time for the latest updates to download/install. But the most amazing part was that everything worked hardware wise, the screen resolution, both wired and wireless internet, and even the SD card reader came back to life. And I am most please about the fact that my cellphone used as a 3G modem via the ATT wireless network worked immediately. As I indicated, "so far so good", but this has been the easiest install of Windows ever!
