Advice please re MB/CPU change Win 7 Pro systems prior to 10 upgrade
Have two PC's running Win 7 Pro 32 bit and Win 7 Pro 64 bit. Both licensed and authentic individual installations. Probably moving to Win 10 in near future.
Step 1 (32bit system authenticated as Win 10 ready via MS 10 upgrade tray icon - except current graphics card - GeForce GT 630)
Issue: Before Win 10 'upgrade' I want to do the following:
Move current MB/CPU in the Win 64 box to the Win 7 Pro 32 box replacing/discarding the current MB/CPU in the Win 7 Pro 32 box. What are the issues I'll face with authentication of the Win 7 32 bit MB/CPU being replaced with the current Win 7 Pro 64 bit MB/CPU ?
Also want to replace a standard HDD with a new SSD in the 32 bit box. Should I do this 1st or wait til after MB/CPU swap ?
Step 2 (64bit system authenticated as Win 10 ready visa MS 10 upgrade tray icon)
Assuming the Step 1 above goes successfully...in the now empty 64bit system...I will install a new MB/CPU combination...no other changes planned in this 64 bit box at this point until upgrade to Win 10.
These are both self built PC systems with individually installed WIN 7 Pro self purchased and registered Windows 7 DVD installation DVDs with MS registration codes on the DVD envelopes.
Thanks for any guidance...from what I've read...these upgrades should definitely be performed prior to Win 10 'upgrade' I've read somewhere too that in particular...changing a MB in any Windows installation can cause problems with MS authentication which prevents any system boot ?
Thanks...TiminAz
