Windows 7: Where did Packard Bell images come from on fresh install?

Where did Packard Bell images come from on fresh install?

I just did a fresh install of 7 onto an older Packard Bell machine.

This was onto a new blank HDD, with non-PB install disk, so I was surprised when the installation ended up with a Packard Bell branded login screen, windows desktop background and account picture.

Where do the images come from? Would they be stored in BIOS?

It's not really an issue, I'm just curious how it came about.

Bob

Where did you get the install disc?

How did you do the install? Did you format the hard drive or delete partitions, what?

Not sure how Packard Bell display got on your new Clean Install.

After answering Ztruker question could you complete this tutorial by Brink and post the log here.
It should show us something.

Something like that happened to me as well.

But I used a ISO I got off the internet, burned it on the thumb drive, installed & used the key that was on the bottom of the laptop.

Yes, it most likely is in the BIOS, since it's a Packard Bell machine.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but doesn't PB install/run at least one app to change the settings that the OP mentioned (login screen, windows desktop background and account picture)?

Lenovo installs two apps from BIOS - then those download more stuff. While Levono's acts are more egregious than branding, both PB and Lenovo used the same BIOS method for forcing exes into a fresh install.

Is there any way to prevent a BIOS based app during install?
