Windows 10 is waiting in Updates, don't want it

    I appreciate you all trying to help.

    Derek, I thought I should post in EightForums because the result of deleting the Download folder was not what was predicted.

    Developments!

    I had a good look at the Optional Updates available, and lo and behold!

    The dreaded KB3035583 is there and so is Win10, so I left them unticked and rebooted.





    Now the Download folder has been restored but it's full of 'junk', not empty like the Win10 poster's was.

    Anyway, panic over, at least I needn't worry about Win10 installing itself as long as I never forget to untick those two boxes If I ever come across a way of removing the update I'll post it here.

    That's fine, posting over there. If you don't want an update you can right click and select hide.

    Thank you, Derek :) I had been up all night and collapsed before reading your last reply

    I hid the update and it greyed it out. Now I have this, which is reassuringly back to normal:
