Motherboard Died - How Can I Successfully Boot My Windows 7 Install
My computers motherboard has died - won't boot, power supply checks out OK, no response even with all hardware disconnected. Its seven years old, so I've ordered new a new mobo, cpu, ram to replace my build.
My question - is there a way to get my current Windows 7 install to boot on my new hardware so I can then do my Windows 10 free upgrade ( I hadn't upgraded to 10 as of yet)?
I thought about booting to safe mode, deleting the hardware listed in Device Manager, then rebooting as normal and letting Windows recognize the new hardware. Would this work?
Thanks for any ideas.
