Yup. Same case. 450D and I must say, it's an awesome case. Very happy with it.
The red light is actually the cpu temp which is on the mobo. I just didn't focus very well, lol. Says 40 though.
If I try to install from USB, it says: Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information.
When I try the steps from the link you sent originally, once I get to 'format fs=ntfs' it says 'there is no volume selected. Please select a volume and try again.'
I typed exactly what was shown in the steps.
According to you post #7 the install of Windows 7 and it's updates was completed. No need to try and install it again. You have another problem somewhere.
I gave in and took it to the repair shop so they can figure it out. I'll update and close this thread once I know what the issue was. Thanks for all the help though.
Thank you Derek. I stand corrected. A second look, seems like not all the updates were completed.
Ok, it's working now. Apparently it needed a bios update. The tech said he updated it, and it initially froze again but then was able to install windows 7 afterwards. Oh, and now that it has drivers installed, the court is fluctuating between 36 and 37 degrees. And that's while downloading so not quite idling. Much better.
Thank you both for all your help. I really appreciate it.
