If i search for ed15956fe33c13642a6d2cb2c7aa9749 i get a lot of hits, seems mostly people asking if this is the correct MD5.

    Here's one interesting site:
    Microsoft DigitalRiver Mirror

If you click on the MSDN link in the last column on the right, it takes you to a MSDN page for that ISO.
Click on Details and it shows the SHA1 value.

I compared the MD5 checksums between the MSDN technet site and the German PCSteps site and they are identical. They also match the MD5 sums I get from the ISO downloads from the PCSteps German site.

I'd say they are 100% genuine and safe.

I only checked Ultimate with yours below - it is correct - presumably the others are also.:)

I don't keep all of the isos. You can save space by keeping one - e.g. Ultimate, and make deltas for the rest. The deltas are only a few kb.

These are the MD5 and SHA -1 sums for US English Windows 7 ISOs I downloaded from the german torrent site. They match the values given on that site but I have not found anywhere I can compare them to.

I did notice the iso says DVD_u_*******.iso
What does the "u" stand for universal ?

Perhaps the "u" is for updated. Other sites refer to these ISO files as "media refresh".

I compared all the MD5 sums I generated against the ISOs I downloaded, against the MSDN Technet MD5 sums and they match perfectly. These are good, clean ISOs that are safe to use.

    Microsoft DigitalRiver Mirror

I decided to download from the above as I don't want to pay $200 just for the disk only to find out it won't work with my key.

Can someone have a look at the below images and tell me if the "hash" match the official iso so I can be certain its not a dodgy copy.

Also can you please confirm I have download the correct iso for Windows 7 Pro 64Bit Retail English.

Just a final quistain I noticed during the downloading utorrebt showed a different hash id, is that just a temp one?

Also I have not burnt it to dvd yet but was wondering would it still show the correct hash if the file is corrupted? I am asking as I was having internet issues during the download.

Compare it to the sums in post #33 above.

No, the hash will be different if there is any change to the ISO, corruption or otherwise.
