Having serious trouble getting windows 7 gpt usb install to boot UEFI

I was wondering if someone can help me on this.
I have a Dell XPS 15 L521X Laptop that currently has windows 8.1 installed on it.
Im trying to set it up as a dual-boot system with windows 7 as a secondary OS.
I have a Windows 7 X64bit OEM disk and tried to install windows 7 from the disk, but it would not allow me to install the operating system to a disk that was initalized as GPT. So I followed these instructions to make a bootable USB Stick Fat32 GPT to install media.

I set the bios to UEFI, Secure Boot: Off and attempted to boot from the usb stick. When the Start Windows Screen came up it hung. So I tried to boot that stick on another computer and got a windows failed to start error 0Xc0000225.

I cant reinstall Windows 8.1 because it has a programs and data on it that the owner does not want to reinstall or cant, is there a way to install Windows 7 in dual boot mode with a GPT Disk on this particular dell machine?

Hi trinsic, welcome to the Forum.

This Seven Forum link should provide better information for you. I notice you have set the BIOS for Secure Boot, which is wrong as it needs to be disabled to install Windows 7.

You should be able to install Windows from the DVD as long as it has not been used on another computer.

Hi Ranger, thank you. No, Secure boot is off, as described in my original message.
After I partitioned the drive to create free space to install windows I attempt to install from the windows7 DVD, But the installation would not allow me to install windows onto a disk initialized as GPT. Secure boot was off at the time I booted from Disk.

Here are the screenshots of the bios, I dont think there is a fast boot option as far as I can see, but if there was I think I disabled it because when it starts up it checks the memory and says its ok.

Ok after thinking about it, I realized when I tried to boot from the windows 7 disk that I was in legacy mode. which is why I couldnt install to the GPT initialized disk. When I try to boot from the disk in UEFI mode, it locks up at the same point as the USB install disk I created. I tried updating the BIOS and that did not fix it.

If I have to convert the Disk from GPT to MBR, is there a way to preserve the current Windows 8.1 installation on the MBR to be able to have a dual boot system between windows 7 and 8.1?

Hi Thrash, thank you. It gets a little farther in the starting windows process, now the windows logo completes its animation, but them it stops reading from the CD and hangs.

Hi,
Expand the UEFI boot listing and post the options that are shown after
I'm pretty sure you'll see UEFI and legacy OPROM to choose instead of UEFI only.
