Windows 7 - cannot update windows 7 build 7600.16385

recently,i,ve downloaded the updates for build 7600.16385 to 7600.20510,the installation went smoothly,but,when the installation completes and my laptop restarts,it will show a message "failure to configure updates,reverting changes" and keep on restarting and reverting until i've to insert repair disc and do a system restore...what is wrong?if i manually install the updates by double-clicking on the updates,it's still wont work..the same problems happened..can anyone plz help?thanx in advance...

You are trying to install un-official updates. I would advise to leave things alone and just update from Windows Update, you never know what might be hidden in those updates you are installing

Not a problem...glad we were able to make sure another install doesn't get corrupted

another questions zidane24..where can i download the official updates?since my internet speed is extremely slow and prefer to manually download the latest official updates..is it possible?

All you have to do is type in the update article identifier (KB######) and it should go to a download page

Install what you like, I use x64 so when downloading your update make sure you get the right architecture

Ignore the failed statuses...I did that on purpose
