Windows 7: Windows 7 OEM iso for new machine. Error from Microsoft website

Just to ensure there is no misunderstanding: I purchased this OEM key from Kinguin. I've used this website before to buy games and they were all fine. I wanted to get the Windows 7 iso from the Microsoft website but when i put the product key in, it said that it was for software pre-installed on by the device manufacturer (hence OEM) so i was unable to get the iso. All i was asking is where else i could find a genuine, legal copy of the Windows 7 Pro x64 iso.

Searching around, Kinguin is what you'd call a "grey market". Whether they are fraudulent or not is contested but they are not authorised by the original manufacturer of a software product. Their product keys (whose origins can be questionable) can be hit or miss so purchase at your own risk.

I'd prefer to buy from authorised outlets and keep clear of grey sites.

It is not an error message, they are telling you what to do.

You can not use an oem key to download an iso from Microsoft, we have been over this a billion times.

You need a retail or a system builders oem key.

That error message doesn't necessarily mean there is anything wrong with your key, all it means is OEM keys are not accepted. I tried my OEM system builders key and got the same error message. I bought my OEM version from NewEgg. Also, I have never been able to download Windows 7 from that site, even with my Retail TechNet or MSDN keys. It just keeps throwing up errors. I don't remember what the error message was right now though. It was a while ago, tried several different keys and none would work. Why they even ask for a key is a mystery to me? They don't if you download Windows 8 or 10?

Please stop calling it an error message, it is not an error message.

They probably want people to move on from Win7 so they're putting limitations on its distribution nowadays.

What is the very first word in that message in the screen shot posted? "Error". You can call it what ever you want, to me its an error message.

I think the original Windows 8 Media Creation Tool asked for key, and also wouldn't accept OEM keys? My memory isn't what it should be though.
