    SSD install help


    SO I have upgraded my laptops hard drive to an Sandisk SSD an trim is set to on but after checking the prefetch folder it has created files but I was told that windows 7 disables prefetch on SSD,s ?

    Windows 7 doesn't always do what it is supposed to do. Read through this Tutorial on SSDs, there is a lot of good advice there for you.

    Yes, read up on it, I think I read to turn Pre Fetch off on a ssd.

    You are correct there, Pre Fetch & Super Fetch should be turned off, as should Disc Defragmenting. Windows usually turns off Defrag but it's a good idea to check to be sure.

    Yea I remember that windows club link :)
    Mine was set to manual so I never did anything with the settings but did just now

    SevenForums link was good too did most
    Everything i believe except the temp files stuff no other drive to redirect it too :/

    well it did disable them the first time i installed but when i reinstalled it did not but all fixed now thanks guys
