    Win 10 to 7

    Hello all,

    a 2 part Q regarding Win 10?

My son was given a Acer laptop which had Win 7 with Czech language originally installed and it was upgraded to Win 10 about 6 months ago, so >>

1: I assume I cannot change the language to English without re installing the OS?
2: If I reinstall do I have to reinstall back to Win 10 or can I go back to Win 7, so which ever option what key is now valid for either of these OS's?

    Thanks..

    Hello Jones, :)

Q1) You will be able to change the display language in Windows 10.

Language - Add, Remove, and Change in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Q2) The Windows 7 product key was used to activate Windows 10 when it was upgraded to Windows 10. You will be able to activate Windows 7 or Windows 10 with the same key, but can of course only have one installed and activated at the same time and not both.

If it has been less than 30 days and you didn't delete the Windows.old folder, you could go back to the previous Windows 7 easily without having to clean install Windows 7.

    Hi Brink,
that worked great, and it was 6 months ago since Win 10 was installed and no folder on there for Win7.

    @ all.
The issue now is that the machine is infected with some nasty I cannot get rid of, so I would like to reinstall Win 7. Where can I get a copy of OS Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit OA (X15 53758) in English? It is a Acer Aspire that came with OS pre installed with key sticker.
I have looked around here but I do not seem to have any luck?

    Hi Brink,
just so I understand, when you upgrade to Win 10 it creates a new x25 digit Key and if you convert back to Win 7 it re instates the original key?
The reason I ask is the sticker key is different to the one I have now found via a key finder app on the laptop I want to reistall and on this laptop I am currently using which I rolled back to Win 7 the key finder shows the same as the sticker.

Q2) The Windows 7 product key was used to activate Windows 10 when it was upgraded to Windows 10. You will be able to activate Windows 7 or Windows 10 with the same key, but can of course only have one installed and activated at the same time and not both.

    Thanks in advance..

The Windows 7 key can be used to activate Windows 7 or Windows 10.

It sounds like your Windows 7 was activated by the SLP key used by the OEM instead of the key on the COA sticker. When you reinstall Windows, you'll only be able to activate with the COA key.

    Thanks SGT Oddball

After I download this do I need to make a bootable USB or can it load direct?

    Hi,
OEM copies are only supported by the manufacture of the machine and not by M$ = I doubt you will get a download from that link and your activation key
