They aren't the only ones that need the download, there are plenty of reasons retail and system builders need the download too.
Carry on with your quest.

Carry on with your quest.
What are the plenty of reason that a OEM Builder or a Retail person would need the download?
They already have the DVD.
Thank you for your permission to carry on with my quest.
DVD gets corrupted or lost or any other number of reasons it becomes unable to be used.
They have a Pre-SP1 disc and need to have an updated one for a repair install or just to avoid that many more updates.
Is that enough for you?
Have you ever heard anyone say that MS did accept the key off their sticker, that wasn't a system builder or retail?
You seem to get yourself all bent out of shape because someone returns questions back at you.
This thread was solved hours ago. I was just curious why you were pressing an issue that is pretty much null and void.
It seem like every time I try to find out a little information you are right their to stop me.
I don't know why that is.
It's hard for me to believe Microsoft made a download site for the few that scratch their DVD's. But what do I know.
My last request to the OP was post #10. The rest of the post was you trying to stop me from finding out the answer.
May I suggest closing the thread.
In the spirit genuine understanding this ability has been pushed awhile ago on this forum. Mind you I've never needed to try it myself.
Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
I have built OEM PCs and it is possible that a system builder may need to download and ISO for reasons derekimo suggests.
Thank you Michael for the positive input.
If I remember correctly they use the COA key on the Microsoft Sticker to do gregs tutorial.
Which is one reason I believe the Microsoft download site was for the store bought computer people with the proper Microsoft Sticker COA key. Which would be the same key they could activate their system with.
You would think it should be, have you heard any of them not getting the message to contact the OEM though?
I'm not saying it's right or wrong and I'm not trying to stop you from doing anything but it's been pretty well documented since they took down the Heidoc links that OEM's have been told to go see the manufacturer.
Surely you've noticed that?
Yes I have noticed those post.
What I haven't noticed is if they are getting the key off the Microsoft Sticker attached to their store bought computer. The same sticker that is used in greg's tutorials.
That is the only information I'm looking for. Did all those store bought computer people use the Microsoft Sticker key when using the new Microsoft download site.
I was hoping that Mayagrafix could give me that answer.
I've previously tried all the stickers on store bought Samsung & Sony win7 PC's we have here at the win7 download site and both times it told me to see the oem.
The only downloads from that site are for retail and some system builders.
