Install windows 10 on another PC tower.

I have a self built Tower pc with windows 7 pro on it and i wanted to use and learn more about windows 10 but i do not want to upgrade my Windows 7 box to windows 10. I have another box that i can use for windows 10 but my question is how or where would i get the copy of windows 10 and install it? since i do own a copy of windows 7 pro.

Make an image of your Win7 system and then upgrade. With the image you can always roll back.

If I understand you correctly, you have only ONE Windows 7 license.

If that's true, I don't think you can have that Windows 7 license activated and also have an activated Windows 10 license via the free upgrade from that one and only Windows 7 license. It's one or the other, not both.

You could probably play with Win 10 for 30 days without activation.

Or get on the Windows 10 Insider program - ok for testing.

yes i have 1 copy license of windows 7, will this work?

why would i not be able to install it to another box. I did the upgrade before and it screwed up all my settings on windows 7 box so i really do not want to do the straight upgrade.

If you have a valid Win7 key, you can of course use that.

    Hi,
Yea sure use the same key the only thing that can happen is the win-7 when you're using it could come up as Not genuine because you would be using it for win-10 too :)

If you want win-10 just buy it
Newegg and Amazon have single 32-64 bit pro and home versions for 140.us and 100.us.
    M$ sells them for 199.99. and 149.??

You are way behind the times, Windows 10 has been out for well over a year to view and play with, it was/is called the Technical Preview.

If you have another PC and want to use 10, just buy it, along with a new solid state drive to install 10 on.

    assume too much.

you assume too much! i actually upgraded my windows 7 box a few months after it came out, it is IMO a POS the way it upgrades from Windows 7 screwing up programs, the interface etc etc. that is why i want to put it on a different build i have.
