Excuse my (poor) humor - pre-activated Windows is slang for pirated Windows such as in this pic -

and this forum frowns on piracy. I guess you meant pre-installed.

No need for any excuses.

All hardware dealers provide the pen drives free, with every purchase. These are Enterprise editions, which are previously activated. I do not know what people in other countries get.

I never saw these advts.

You know that this is fake since enterprise was never available in stores. That box looks cool though.

So what's your take on pre-activated Enterprise Windows on a USB - 'All hardware dealers provide the pen drives free, with every purchase' ? That's a new one on me.

Sounds like a hacked copy and I've never heard of a manufacturer installing enterprise. I think that he is referring to installing from a pen drive as he said that he had previously done. I'm not sure if enterprise has to be activated. I have never done a clean install of enterprise only an image which of course was from a previously activated install.

Hi,
I was under the impression enterprise had to be connected to the domain or business network it's tied to to be activated ?

Either way we all pay more for cheat installs
If you want a free os get all the linux you want windows is in no way free not even enterprise
A business paid for what ever license it's under.

Then you get into the TechNet subscription pass around versions.

Updates to Windows 7 kills my printer
I cannot get my HP Photosmart Printer C7280 to work properly with Windows 7, 32 bit O.S. If I back out all the updates from Windows 7 and load the programs from HP for their drivers in Windows 7, everything seems to work. However after doing the Microsoft Updates, something gets clobbered and...

Windows kills a task that appears non-responsive but is just slow
I am trying to create a DVD using Cyberlink PowerDirector. It reaches 21%, at which point Windows 7 deems it non-responsive and kills it. I tried it on my old Windows XP machine and noticed that it DOES sit at 21% for a very long time (minutes) but eventually soldiers on to successful completion....

Windows Update Kills my computer????

Windows Update kills my internet!
I recently got my Windows 7 Pro in the mail and I installed it last night. I've been getting back up and running and I've run into a bit of a problem. I think I have it narrowed down. Windows update downloads some updates for my on-board Realtek network card and as soon as I restart my machine...
