Windows 7 driver select on installation Hello,
I have a problem with my Compaq Presario SR5255NL,
I formatted it yesterday, and I would like to install windows 7 on it,
But when I try to install it, a message appears that there's no driver available, and then I have to insert a disk or an memory-stick with the driver, but I don't know what I need ( I lost the recovery-disk on moving to a new place )
Can someone help me? ( And excuse me for my bad English, because I am from Belgium )
Thanks, Roy

Thanks, Roy Schurkens Hello Roy, and welcome to Windows Seven Forums! And your English is just fine.
Could we have some more info? Which 7 are you installing? where did you get it: Retail or download? 32 bit or 64 bit? Any details would be helpful.
Cheers!

It should reveal in the error text what driver is sought to run your installation, probably the SATA controller driver. Find the driver from your model's product downloads page and unzip it onto disk or stick, then browse there to install it when prompted by the Windows 7 installer.
I am not sure why your formatted the HDD before installing since you could use the installer to do so, and would still have the ability to browse into the underlying Vista OS's windows/system32/ drivers file to find your SATA driver, or boot back in to pluck it from its Device Manager location. You may yet need to use your recovery partition or disks to achieve this. | My System Specs

I have formatted it because my HDD was almost overloaded with files which i didn't need anymore, so I thought it was better to format it.
The folder windows/system32/drivers is not existing on my HDD. And another problem is that I have lost my recovery disk on moving to another place.
Where do I have to download the SATA driver?
And what is the Device Manager location and where can I find it?

Well you have no Vista to go back to so those options are foreclosed.
Can you post back here exactly what the error message is requesting drivers be added to your installer.
Those drivers are going to have to be found on the download page for your model computer, or by Googling.
They need to be unzipped onto a flash stick or CD and loaded when the installer requests them. | My System Specs

When the setup of windows 7 starts, I have to choose my language,....
Then I have to choose between upgrade and new installation but upgrade is transparant because there is no OS at this moment. ( like said )
Then the setup searches for available drives to install windows 7 on, then the following message appears,
This is the message in Full: " Er zijn geen stations gevonden. Klik op stuurprogramma laden als u een stuurprogramma voor massaopslag wilt laden voor de installatie"
Translated is it: " There are no stations ( Drives ) found. Click on load driver if you want to load mass storage driver for installation" I hope this is enough, Roy | My System Specs

Roy providing you are using SATA it would need to be your SATA driver. If you still had Vista we could find its location quickly in Device manager info tab, or in system32/drivers, but you'll need to research your model to find the latest SATA drvier to unzip to flash/disk and load in at that prompt.
Do you have any recovery disks or drivers/apps disk for the machine? Browse them from the installer prompt.
If you update your System Specs we can help you locate the SATA driver needed. | My System Specs

UPDATE: I have downloaded the Intel driver from the HP website for my HDD ( SATA ).
And when I search for them during the installation, the setup finds them,
But it says that they are not compitable, and so he doesn't finds my HDD
What can I do?
