    Windows 7 Error: 0xC0000005

welll.....i got myself a copy of windows 7 ultimate,,,,,
i burnt the iso file onto a dvd using Power Iso

now when i boot from the dvd,,,installation starts just fine,,,,but
    after i select "upgrade" install,,,

it tells me to remove the installation disk,,,start windows and
    restart installation...

Now the problem is,,,,when i start the installation in windows,,,i get
    the following error----

"Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the
installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.
    Error Code: 0xC0000005"

It is driving me nuts,,,,,some forums suggested to change sata to
ide,,,but there is no such option in my bios....[i guess so]

i tried updating my bios ,,,, but since my battery is damaged [i tried
    high performance,,,which resulted in this]

    my bios could'nt be updated....

    ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED....

    i have windows vista,,,dell latitude d820

    Hi and welcome

that error code is an access code violation. Usually memory. were you having any memory problems when you were in vista? I assume despite MS suggestion you were trying to upgrade. Its not your cmos batter, not do I suspect your bios

If I were you I would downlaod and re-burn another dvd to be on the safe side. Also when installing or upgrading an OS you often Have to remove most of the memory leaving only 1-2 gigs in.

    Hopet his helps
