The key from the laptop label didn't work on the MS site as you suspected DavidE.

I have used ThrashZone's link to get the ISO.

Just hope the key works if I need to use it.

Hi,
Well you should use the oem key on the case if you have problems just use the phone activation option by text...

If you haven't already done this,
Now that you have the W7 ISO, create a bootable DVD or flash stick.
Then you can test that the bootable media works.

You don't have to run anything, and can just cancel and restart Windows from the HD.
This way you'll know if you have a working bootable Win disc/flash stick, before a catastrophe.
The bootable disc/flash stick can be useful for repairs, recovery, etc., if/when installed Windows can't start.

Thanks again David.
If I just burn the ISO to DVD is it then bootable?
Or do I have to do something extra to make it so?

Hi,
You're better off using a flash drive but if you insist use this for either

Crikey it's getting complicated now!
Your link wants me to download other stuff as well.
Can't I just copy to USB with explorer?
Or burn to DVD with my existing software?

Hi,
It's a Microsoft utility and harmless
It should do a better job than right clicking the iso file and selecting burn.

OK, burnt it with BurnAware, no apparent problems.
