    BSOD When attempting to downgrade Windows 10 to Windows 7


    Alright, so I have a Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11 1-131 (2015 model) and I am trying to install windows 7 Home Premium from a USB stick I burned with the Home Premium ISO using Rufus and the way I am doing it is, I go into BIOS when starting up, change Boot Mode to Legacy and put USB stick to top of the list and then reboot, it then boots into the USB stick but then shows Windows is loading files for a few seconds then says Starting Windows then after that a BSOD appears saying "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your System vendor for a updated BIOS", alright then I went to acers website and got the latest BIOS for my computer (1.08), installed that and tried again and had the same issue... I have also tried just using Legacy and then booting from Boot menu using F12, same issue... Is there ANY way I can fix this and let it load the installer? I have also reset the BIOS to default settings serveral times so I do not know what is wrong...

    My BIOS is insydeh20 Acer 1.08

    Also I have upgraded from Windows 10 home to Windows 10 pro

    (I know it sounds kind of silly to downgrade but I like windows 7)

    Hi WD1,
    if the lappy has a 7th generation intel core, and i think it is.
    It does NOT support W7, the question was asked that comps homepage

    You can't even run win-7 in a vm = not enough memory.

    Would it be possible for me to run the Win7 iso in Virtualbox on my Mac and then use Wintousb to clone the Virtual Machine Win7 onto a external hard drive then boot from the external hard drive on my Windows 10 computer?

    Why the urgent need to have 7 instead of 10 ?

    Just customize 10 a bit and you`ll never know the difference, it`s just an operating system.

    I mean Windows 10 is not Windows 8

    The Amazon link you furnished on post nº1 says that your laptop came with a Celeron N3050.
    According to Intel (Supported Operating Systems for Intel(R) Graphics Products) the Intel Celeron N3050 isn't compatible with Win 7. And with a storage capacity of 32G you can't do much.

    Alright, so I ended up just installing Windows 8.1, and it runs perfectly, it runs MUCH MUCH faster than Windows 10 ever would on that laptop and it leaves more space (since the HDD is only 32gb). Anyways, putting windows 8.1 on there worked fine and I want to thank everyone for helping me and pointing out that Windows 7 wouldn't actually install.

    Yep win-8.1 is more stable too and not really all that different than 10 imho.
