Blank/Black screen problem during clean install

Following is my system configuration

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3 GHz
MoBo: Intel DG43NB
RAM: 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz
Graphics: Onboard
Sound Card: Onboard
HDD: 250 GB SATA Seagate

OS I am trying to Install: Windows 7 Professional Edition 64 bit
Install Method: Clean

Problem description:

Start the PC.
HDD is in Raw format. No partitions. Its brand New
Boot from DVD.
Windows starts installing files
After files installation completes, windows starts
After few seconds start screen disappears and is repalced by a Black/Blank screen with only mouse pointer. Mouser is working but there is nothing on screen to click on. Keyboard is working fine too. (checked with NumLock and Caps Lock keys)
Nothing happends beyond this point even after rebooting and repeating above process.

Searched internet for above problem symptoms. Looks like Windows 7 decides default monitor on its own. There is no way to decide it yourself duing installation.

My motherboard has two ports. 1 DVI and 1 analog. I have only 1 Analog monitor and do not plan on buying/having another monitor.

DVI to analog convertor is not available in market to test display from DVI port.

Could somebody please help?

Many Thanks,
Sameer

Dear SevenForums members -

Looks like I will not get any replies over here. I apologize if I have missed following any rules for posting or creating new threads.

I am still stuck at the blank screen problem and have tried following things so far -
1. Checking if the display is routed to DVI port on my motherboard. No its not happening. I am still getting blank display on analog port
2. Tried installing 32 bit windows 7. Same problem. The setup did ask me for drivers for my DVD RAM (LG brand). I did upgrade flash for the optical drive.
3. Tried installing both versions of win 7 from usb. Either the USB fails to boot or setup does not proceed.
4. I have successfully installed WinXP 64 bit and have got all my devices working. There is no yellow exclamation mark in device manager.

Please let me know if you need additional informatoin on this. Thank you for your help in advance.

Try disabling the onboard video, and using a borrowed vid card to do the setup, then switch to a generic vid driver, re-enable the onboard vid, then reboot windows.

Whet is the intel from Intel on this problem, do they have a workaround?

yeah, use a cheapy video card and turn off your onboard video, or if you can just turn off the DVI video...that should be a good trick to start

I am having the same problem and I am just now trying to install a different bit set to see if maybe I got it wrong but I know I didnt. I have no idea what the problem is but I NEED to fix this ASAP.

This is one instance where running the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor initially would have been beneficial. It pays to check compatability, and grab any drivers which appeared necessary, as well as thinking in terms of possibly updating the PC's BIOS, before embarking on the installation.

I ran the compatability adviser and it said it was good to go but I guess not. so this must be a compatability problem with the video card. how do I fix this?

It might help if you pasted your Windows 7 compatibility report in the thread.
