Hi. It depends on the type of drive it is. IDE or SATA. If IDE, the jumper is set incorrectly.

Besides setting the jumper correctly and checking that the new HDD registers correctly in the BIOS, confirm that the DVD drive is set to boot first under Boot tab.

It should be CD/DVD drive first, new HDD second.

Where did you get the DVD? Did you burn it yourself?

Do you have another OS installed on another drive? Do you wish it to be dual booted with new install?

As my esteemed associates have recommended also set your boot configuration within your bios to CD/DVD as first boot.

You;ll probably need to change the boot order.'

If you gave a screen that displays boot options,. then choose the second drive down and see if it boots.

If not try the first drive
    '
Once you have it figured out,. you;ll need to change it in the BIOS.

Did you burn the DVD? Verify it against ISO using ImgBurn.

Can you get to the page that's lets you choose where to boot? If you do what are the options that you see? Can you write it down so we can identify them for you?
