corrupt files from microsoft??

I just spent an hour downloading the 2+ gig of files for the seven download, i used the links provided on the microsoft store site that i was lead to after paying.

There were two options for a 32 bit install, one was an iso, one was not, i went with the not iso first. There were three parts to download, the first part being the largest at a little over 2 gig. The rest were quite small.

I downloaded all three to my desktop which is practically empty after all my backing up in preparation for my new OS. The first two files are .box files, ive never hear of it, but oh well, Im sure the .exe knows whats going on, but apparently not. I click mr .exe and he tells me "The application cannot find one of its required files, possible because it was unable to create it in the folder. Please make sure that the folder in which this application was downloaded is acessible and not read-only."

Sigh. A bit of google brings me very little help, i found a few other with this same issue but the responses they got were no help, things like re-download etc, the guy responded saying he had DL three times and the same thing, i dont know about him but i havnt got time to download this three times and fail.

I am downloading the iso as we speak but since its capped at 1 MB/s i still have 30 mins to go. Hopefully ill have better luck with an iso, but it seems kind of silly to me that the other files do not work properly.

Can anyone shed any light on my situation with the exe/box files?

firstly, i have come across this thread you are linking me whilst searching google for my problem, you say: Rt click each file, Properties > Unblock>Apply>OK. but when i go into properties there is no sign of 'unblock' or anything even like it.

youre saying i need to do sum crazy wiz bang (yes it seems that to me) stuff when im just an average joe trying to install an operating system. maybe it works.. maybe it doesnt. But this all seems waaaaay too much trouble.

I cannot believe i cant just put in a disk and have it install like it did when i bought vista from the store. If they wernt sold out at my store i wouldve done again!

Ive been trying to install this OS for 3 hours now, i am getting no where but frustrated as i read all kinds of crazy solutions involving virtual drives (what??) and burning at 1x (i tried that... omg it was torture) i have verified my iso i just dont know what else to do.

I showed you why your previous attempt failed.

Burn the .iso you have now as an image, not as a data disc. Then boot to the DVD by setting the bios to do so as first boot device. Alternatively, you can possibly press f8 until you have the choice of CD/DVD drive, at boot.

Use this to burn and you can't go wrong.
