    Hey Johnny and welcome

Did you do a clean install or upgrade?

You cant use a vista recovery (or backup) to install apps in win 7. If you did an upgrade they should already be there.

Do you have a windows.old folder on you C: drive?
If so you can use the easy transfer wizard to import your settings, etc

    waiting on info

Sometimes you can pluck specific programs and drivers off of an apps disk without installing it.

Running an apps disk can sometimes just pop up a choice menu, but you wouldn't want to install the entire disk if it is going to wipe your drive as a full recov disk does.

All I ever really want is Works which I still can download off of an old Gateway apps disk. Get Adobe flash/reader, Java runtime from their sites (Java also has a compatible free reader).

The Support Downloads page for your model will also have apps and drivers. A call to your tech support can point you toward others.
