Will it work?

Hi There, I'm new so please be kind...

Ok, at work, we've decided to buy 2 copies of Windows 7 Ultimate. The supplier (A large enough company in UK) had done the following:-

Sent X1 32Bit OEM + Product Key
Sent X1 64Bit OEM + Product Key

Now, both OEM copies have their own OEM Product Keys.

What I'd like to know is, can we both use the 64bit DVD to install windows with while using the product keys from the 32bit DVD and 64BIT DVD?

My train of thought is this, We have got 2 licences and 2 DVD's, will the two licences work on one DVD? So, We install teh 64Bit copy but for one install we use the 32BIT key and the other uses the 64Bit key?

We are only using this for training purpose and not commecial use yet, We need to be able establish as to it working in our envirement.

I would use the 32 bit key with the first x64 install, then if it activates OK, you know the other key will work for the second x64 install. If it doesn't activate, then you still have the 64 bit key to use for the first install and you can change it to that key.

I will let you know, i've just realised that the 64bit has not arrived!

The full version of the package comes with both 32bit and 64bit DVDs but with only one License key for both versions. Please check if you have 2 unique Product Keys if they are identical it can only be used for one installation.

there might be differences on how they sell the product depending on where your located. For example here in the Philippines when we buy an OEM package we only get one DVD and we have to specify if we want a 64bit or 32bit. :)

License keys work on both platforms, has was the case with Vista. This shouldn't be much of a debate anymore, as nothing has changed in the last three years. XP had different licenses for the two platforms, but Vista and Windows 7 do not. There is nothing wrong with using the x64 media to install on both computers, and then using the two license keys to activate them.

Just install as you normally would, making sure you do install the proper version for what the license key entitles you to. Once you get the systems installed, updated, and are happy with them, pop in the keys, activate, and enjoy.

Remembering that the OS's came OEM and one package was 32bit with it's own key and the 64bit will be delivered tomorrow again, with its own CD Key....

We want to take the BOTH keys and use 64Bit DVD -- Can this be done using the OEM version(s)?

It doesn't matter what license type it is. As I said above, the keys work with both platforms (x86 or x64). I use my retail TechNet discs to install any version of Windows 7, using either platform, and they always activate with their legit key, of any kind. It's been the same for Vista, and it's the same now with Windows 7. Nothing has changed in over three years. It doesn't matter that both are OEM. It doesn't matter that one key was packaged with the 32 bit version. It doesn't matter that you might be wearing a red shirt when you install one, and a blue shirt when you install the other one. It works just the same as Vista did.

Can you give me a breif run-down on the above Please, using a works pc witout Adobe on it... IT dept please!!!
