    Maya 2009 or 2010 on Windows 7

    Hey Everybody!!
    I am not able to install Maya 2010 on my PC running on Windows 7 32Bit. Tried the Isscript installation, DirectX updated, etc..etc..other forums suggested.. It starts, the installation validates, copies files and then POP!! an annoying window saying the installation was interrupted and no changes were made...rolling back..blah blah blah....
    Can anyone help? I already installed a lot of softwares and ( games too) so I have no partition free to have XP on it. Anyways it would suck!! switching OS just to work or play..call me lazy lols..
    Kidding, installing XP on a separate partition would be my last resort, option, choice..

    I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and got the same message when trying to install Maya 2010 x86. Here's how I solved it:

    • For experienced Windows 7 users: change the owner of the installation program from the administrator account to your own account;
    • A more detailed how-to:
      • Right click the Maya2010 installation program
      • Select 'Properties'
      • Select tab 'Security'
      • Click 'Advanced'
      • Select tab 'Owner'
      • Click 'Edit'
      • Select your own user account
      • Click 'Apply'
      • Click 'Ok' a couple of times to exit
      • Install Maya 2010

    I have a pirated version of Maya 2010. How do I know what my user account is? Do I even have a user account if the version I have is a pirated one?
