Hi, i have just reinstalled windows on my daughters pc. it has a main C drive and a partition drive D which contains the recovery info.
I have download an anti virus programme but the default path is D whereas it should be C but I dont know how to change it.
Any help would be apreciated.

Is this an upgrade install or a clean install?
When you installed the antivirus app, were you given a choice as to the install location--typically somewhere under C:\Program Files?
You can usually change the path manually.

Which AV program did you download? All programs should install themselves on the C: drive (or whichever drive letter represents the current running OS) unless you explicitly instruct them to do otherwise.
Can you also post a screenshot of your full Disk Management map so we can take a closer look at that recov partition?
Is it the recovery for either Vista or Win7 which came with the computer? Or a backup image you saved there of your fresh install?
If for an older install, test to see if it works by tapping Recovery F-key given on first bootup screen to see if that starts it up and it is functional at all.

What exactly do you want to see from the screenshot
(in my panic i forgot my daughters pc is on vista basic(sorry) so i will have to do it the old fashioned way)
All programs when installing are showing the path from the d drive not just the antivirus install.
the d drive is labelled as recovery and i would have thought it should be locked so to speak.

Otherwise, expand Disk Management window to the right or use cursor so you can see all of the text given in each partition and list everything in each HD partition shown.

You said you reinstalled Windows on computer, but did the computer originally come with Win7?
Did you use a recovery disk provided by manufacturer, a Win7 Upgrade kit, or your own retail Win7 DVD?
If the computer came with Vista, did you make the recovery disks before installing Win7 as the recovery partition is most likely disabled with Win7 installed, and is interfering by claiming the Boot.
If the computer came with Win7 then we need to see if the recov is still functional. Type recovery in start box and see if you are able to enter Recovery or make Recov disks. Reboot computer and tap F-key listed on first boot screen for Recovery to see if it loads.
Dont' panic as this is fixable - we do these here every day.
