Win7 Digital River Master Disc Won't Boot

The issue does not appear to be that the DVD is not bootable, it is clearly booting as you are seeing the white progress bar as Windows loads itself into memory. Once that happens you see the blue Windows 7 background as it attempts to identify hardware and load the appropriate drivers required to proceed with the install.

For what ever reason Window is finding a hardware problem, and it's usually a memory issue or having a problem with the bios. Go to you OEM or motherboard manufacturer a try to locate an updated bios. Also if you have more than 1 stick of ram in the machine remove one and try again. If it fails switch to the other stick and try again.

If you still have a problem afterwards post back and we'll try something else.

Additionally and maybe a stretch, if you burned the ISO yourself burn it again at a lower speed...

I will admit that hardware issues have been present in the past. Hence, the recently replaced motherboard. I was plagued by IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bluescreens, which I thought were my motherboard, which turned out to most likely be a back stick of memory I was unable to isolate (was running 4 1GB sticks at the time). However, my new RAM has been rock solid thus far, and I don't think that is the issue, However, I will try to remove a stick and see what happens.

While you were testing I went out to see what the latest bios was for your board...

It took 'bout 2 minutes to land on a page with these user comments. Not very encouraging as they support what you stated as a previous problem and certainly reflects on the issue your having now. Of course that's not a reason to not thoroughly test.

Cons: Random memory errors. tried different slots with no luck. The Skill memory tested fine on another board that I have.

Cons: Same as everybody else, it is just horribly unreliable. I tried 4 different sets of memory sticks and nothing helps, it powers for a second, then shuts down. The only remedy is to unplug it, discharge the capacitors, and wait a minute before powering it back on.

Cons: Constant memory dumps and blue screen errors. Have troubleshot extensively. Like I said, I have 2 nearly identical piles of parts and 2 different kinds of memory and still no working systems. All of the 10 different memory sticks I am using all test fine in windows 7 memory test and in memtest86. Should have stuck with ASUS. I still have a 5+ year old AMD system that still runs using an ASUS board. As a matter of fact, I am ordering an ASUS board to replace this one.

Cons: unfortunately, those is about as good as it gets. JMicron controller has major issues with anything other than Windows. LOSES DATA.
Had to return TWICE for various reasons. The first was due to cascade failure on IRQ 1, first mouse, then keyboard went out. Wouldn't turn on. Now the replacement has drive controller failure. All of a sudden NONE of my drives show up. Mysteriously they wouldnt come up correctly for a week straight. The drives are NOT failing.Using both orange SATA[not JMicron] and IDE config.

Cons: As with many other reviews, the board has issues with memory slots, listing errors in memtest86 and random crashes in windows.

Booted system with several known-good sticks of ram, at various speeds, all failed similarly.

Hey guys. After my final comment, I restarted my system shortly after and journeyed through my BIOS one last time before giving up all hope. Sure enough, I fixed the problem and I am now running on W7!

In my BIOS, there are three assignable options in the order of how my system will boot. For whatever reason, I had it set at CD/DVD ROM, Hard Disk, and then CD-DVD ROM again. I unassigned the third one, and then tried to boot from CD again, and sure enough it worked. Installation went smooth (took about 20 minutes), transferred all my backed up data from my exeternal, and put my extra 4GB of RAM in to bring my total to 8GB! It's only the first day, but I am really happy with the system so far; I really like the OS overall.

Thanks to you guys for helping me out. It was awesome that I had some quick, informative responses in a matter of minutes at such early hours. Hopefully I won't be back, but I will definitely come here first if I have any other issues.

As for those problems you mentioned, I will definitely keep an eye on how my memory performs on this board. I DID have a P35 chipset of the exact same board before I got this one, but this one has yet to give me issues. So, I am assuming everything will be ok, at least until I am ready for another set of large upgrades.
