    Language problem

    Hi guys,
I've got a problem withing change the system language change.I brought a notebook on US and gave it to my sistrer on Brazil. So it came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bits, but of course in english. I went to change it to Portuguese-BR, but i can't see the opition anywhere.

    I followed this Steps:

Control Painel->Change keyboard or other inputs methods

then for what i saw, it was suposed to be an opition to change language here, but there is just a button saing: "Change Keyboards", and the rest of the Form is empty.

Also tried on Windows Update, but can't see any Language Update there.

    Thanks,
    Alan.

    Hi Alan
Sorry to inform, but it is not possible to change the system language for Home Premium. The language packs (MUI) are only for Enterprise and Ultimate versions.

You can change the keyboard to allow to use caracteres em Português, but all the Windows commands, screens etc will still be in English. Only options are to spend a bunch of Reais and buy one locally, or buy a Ultimate in the US and change the language (I honestly don't know which one is less expensive, given the usual high prices there and the lousy exchange rate).

Let me know if I can help further.

Edit: I checked and she will pay close to US$ 280 (R$490) there. Here you can buy for US$220, plus cost to send there. You also need to check restrictions regarding exporting software, you might not be allowed to send it abroad.

Tks Alan for the feedback. Let me know if it works. That would be a new piece of info, that the OEMs can provide different language packs for the Home Premium version.
