    Missing bootmgr--SOLVED

I partitioned my HD in attempt to dual boot linux. But with a botched install of linux, I am now getting the above error when I try to boot back into windows. I have booted from an install dvd, gone to the command prompt and ran these commands I found in another thread.
    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /rebuildbcd

All three commands were completed successfully but in the end, still no go. Any other suggestions I could try?

Update, problem solved, for some reason, startup repair failed on the first two attempts but worked on the third try.
