    Deleting windows folder


    Hey Forum.
    I need help deleting the windows folder because I accidently installed windoes 7 on the wrong drive (D: instead of C: ). But just normally deleting the deleting the folder is not possible, since the system won't let me for some reason... Any tips? Please post only how to delete and NOTwhat it will cause.

    Hello LeNger,

    Sorry, but you will not be able to delete the C:\Windows folder. It is a protected operating system folder. About the only thing you can do is format the drive that you installed it on wrong to, then install it on the correct drive.

    Install Windows 7 on C: then when you boot from C:, you will be able to delete D:\Windows.

    Perhaps you can delete the C: partition and continue with your installation on D: if you are satisfied with its performance. The letters really don't make any difference in Win7 anyway.

    It you want to post a screenshot of your full Disk Management map, we can advise you how to delete C: best, even perhaps move Win7 into the first space on the HD.

    Use the Snipping tool in start menu, attach file using paper clip in reply box.
