Windows Vista 64bit to windows 7 64 bit problem

So i have hp touchsmart IQ522 and when i got it was windows vista
64-bit and its all fine , but i decided to update to windows 7 and i did so but it was clean instal. then i relised i lost some on the hp programs like ( hp touchsmart softwere application) which i use a lot.. and i was trying to find it but ther is possible download. so i done full system recovery and now im back to vista and when i try to upgrad to windows this time to keep the files but when i try to do that this is what i get :

"The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.

    • You can’t upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.

    • 32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc. "
And Yes i have windows vista 64 bit its just very confusing ... if anyone can help me please :) thank you

You should be able to get those Touchsmart applications on the Support Downloads page for your model computer. If not, contact HP.

Clean install is your best bet. In-place Upgrades transfer corruption and bloat from the Vista install.

If you want to do the inferior in-place Upgrade, then you will need to use a 64 bit installer.

I would call them to get better response.

Did you check the Support Downloads webpage for your computer? There are quite a few touchsmart apps for your model: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Looku...&submit=Go+%BB

The Win7 installer is nearly driver-complete; newer will arrive in Windows Updates.

You might not need to. The apps appear to all be on the downloads page for your model linked here: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Looku...&submit=Go+%BB

You may want to go ahead and do an in-place Upgrade to see how performance is.

But later if you decide to clean install, the apps are there on the downloads page so you don't have to do without them.

Did you even attempt to look on the HP website for the Support Downloads page for your model?

There are plenty of Touchscreen appliations for your model there so you can do a clean install and later reinstall them, as we could have pointed out for you had you posted before restoring to Vista.

Here is the place to start: HP United States - Computers, Laptops, Servers, Printers and more

Get your exact Touchsmart model number off of the HP sticker on your p.c.
