W7 and sata ,first timer here

Ok I have looked every where and can't find a driver for my sata drive. I only have and plan on using one sata3.0 drive. So I need windows installed on it. I followed the instruction for my mobo but every driver I try says it's not signed so can't use it. Went to gigabyte and tried th drivers no luck. Even true the vista drivers. No luck

    AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor 2.8GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/
    GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H
Antec Black M FusionRemote 350 Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
    G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel

This is the first time I tried to install with a sata drive so I not sure if I'm doing it rite. Also first time win 7 also

    thanks

You should not need a separate driver for Windows 7. I natively contains drivers for SATA, IDE, RAID etc for most boards. What problems are you having during install?

If your HD does not show up in BIOS then you may have more serious problems.

Change cable, check jumpers: set to Master with only the HD on ribbon.

Move HD to another computer to see if it registers in that BIOS.

Try another HD to see if it registers in BIOS.

When it shows up in BIOS, check SATA controller settings. Try AHCI first. What are others?
