MS paid manufacturers to build most of the Win7 drivers in the WHQL program, to assure that they wouldn't hold out on drivers to force us to buy newer hardware as they did with Vista, and to have the drivers first in the installer and via Windows Updates.

You can normally trust the drivers provided by MS with Win7 because they have almost all of them. Just doublecheck if you have problems.
microsoft made sure that win 7 was and is compatible with the vista drivers that were all ready out there. where vista was concerned when it first came out microsoft in an effort to push hardware sales made vista so it would not work with most older hardware. microsoft corrected this with sp1. microsoft knew with win 7 that they did not dare pull that stunt again. vista's poor hardware support was all microsoft.
