Remind me: you downloaded the latest drivers or both your card and monitor?

Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode? If you can, that could give us some insight into the problem.

Also, when do you get this message? Can you ever see anything on your monitor, like during the POST?

While in Safe Mode, can you go into Device Manager and uninstall the drivers for both the graphics card and monitor? Then reboot into normal mode.

Is there a driver installed yet for monitor? How about a newer video driver? Check windows updates.

Change screen resolution and refresh rate, then try monitor again. Repeat until it works.
check your vid card manufactures website for a newer driver. avoid driver updates from windows update. microsoft had a bad track record for hardware updates.

MS paid manufacturers to build most of the Win7 drivers in the WHQL program, to assure that they wouldn't hold out on drivers to force us to buy newer hardware as they did with Vista, and to have the drivers first in the installer and via Windows Updates.

You can normally trust the drivers provided by MS with Win7 because they have almost all of them. Just doublecheck if you have problems.
