Do not see this option anywhere?Boot into PW to run System File Check to get a clean bill of health on the Resizing operation
if you get an error, ’slmgr’ is not a recognized as an internal or external command….. , you may have to change to the system32 folder. use these commmands:
type: cd\
type: cd windows\system32
your prompt should change to C:\windows\system32>
slmgr command and options:
slmgr -dli (this will display the current activation/licensing info of the pc your on)
slmgr -ipk xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (allows you to replace the current product key with the specified)
slmgr -xpr (shows expiration date of current license)
slmgr -upk (uninstalls current product key and i would assume puts license back to trial state)
slmgr -ato (activates current pc’s license)
Last resort:
slui.exe 4
Select your Country.
Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.
Remember you have a licensed installation and MS only needs to confirm that to help you reactivate. Just explain what happened.
Comes up with Windows Script Host Message 'Can't find script engine "VBSCript" for script "C:\Windows\system32\slmgr.vbs"
can I just re-install Win 7 from scratch? or restore original image from backup?
Try reopening CMD and just using slmgr commands without prefix. works for me here, maybe because I run as Admin
try Task Manager>New Task>use Run box that comes: slui.exe 4 then call MS
Place Win7 DVD in drive
Task Manager>Applications>New Task>Run>"D:setup.exe" (replace D with DVD drive letter)
Run Upgrade (repair) install which will keep everything in place and reinstall OS, refresh activation.
Worked for me on same situation in beta.
