Windows 7 upgrade showing ghost programs in install.

Hey there, am trying to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. After the compatibility checkup is complete I see a message saying that Kaspersky Anti Virus is either preventing or will damage the installation during upgrade and it will not let me continue until I have "uninstalled it from my system". However I've never even heard of the program until today and there's no trace of it on my system.

Please help.

**** I posted on the wrong forum.
Sorry mods.
That is an insidious program. If it was on your computer at any time it is hard to remove. Go to their website. They have a removal tool, use it. Somewhere there are remnants of the program. If I am wrong the tool will not hurt.

You probaly downloaded something, in the past, and it was sponsored by Kaspersky.

Type the name of the program in search. See if any folders come up. If so you can delete them.

Thanks for your help.

Nothing shows up in search and I can't find a trace of it in Windows Install Clean up.
I can't find any other removal program.

Any suggestions?

All these anti virus programs are tough to remove. Go to the website of the a/v Kaspersky and look for the removal tool, it should be there.

Hi
Try downloading CC Cleaner and see if it can see it,if so delete it.
Download CCleaner 2.27.1070 - Crap Cleaner is a system optimization tool used by millions across the globe - Softpedia

Kaspersky is a very good antivirus, maybe it came with the pc as a trial.

I open a program and it opens on the monitor. I think restore the size, rather than having in maximum size. The program disappears, but is still in the task bar. I click on the program icon in the task bar to make it appear in the monitor, but the program shows to open on a non-existent monitor...
