reinstaling 7 after it has been activated

    Hey,

I have had windows 7 ultimate 64 bit running on my macbook pro bootcamp partition for a while and its now unbootable do to a failed repartition. Upon installing windows 7 I activated my product key.

how do I deactivate it? so I can reinstall or does that not matter

Well it depends on OEM or Retail disk and time since last activation.

THere is n way to deactivate an install. So just try to install and activate again, if it fails yo can call the phone number that comes up and explain the situation. Never heard of anyone NOT being able to reactivate at all as long as it was a legitimate copy.

    .
The deactivation is achieved when you have to make the robocall to MS.

The numbers exchanged deactivate the old install before activating the new one, thus assuring MS it is on only one machine.
