Fresh Install on RAID - 0

    Hello every one,

I am currently awaiting the arival of my new motherboard and processor and just picked up a copy of win7 64bit. However, i have found controdicting information about windows 7's ability to recognize hard drives that are in a RAID array.

I am goingto be installing on two WD SATA HDs on a RAID - 0 array. Will i have to manualy install SATA drivers before i am able to install windows on them?

    Thanks!

    Rob

Hi Rob. Please don't post multiple threads on the same topic in different sub forums. Just post the one, thanks.

Windows 7 64-bit install on RAID

    Hi Rob,

Just install OS along w the RAID drivers, as needed. I downloaded the RAID drivers and put them on a USB drive, and installed these during the OS install.
Thus, for me it was a straighforward clean install of 7 Ultimate on my RAID setup.
I am running 3 1TB Sata II drives on RAID 5 w a Gigabyte MB. RAID was built w Intel RAID controller, set normally through BIOS, then loaded drivers in the midst of 7's custom install. Activated 7 after updates, and it has been working perfectly from day one, including through a RAID restore (I had to replace one of the HDD a couple of weeks after the build).

    Good luck,
    Ramon
