I doubt it has anything to do with the download. Just reinstall Works over itself, in any case the installer does (I think, but depends on which build you have...) give you the options of repair, install, or uninstall.

The latest OEM builds of Microsoft Works often appear on eBay for extremely small sums...

So you clean installed and now don't have Works?

Most Upgrade Kit's have the Win7 DVD and an apps/drivers disk where you can find Works.

If not, contact your Tech Support and ask them.

In the past, maker's wouldn't give up the apps disks for clean installs as a way of enforcing the factory bloatware, but since they provided the Win7 DVD then they should be willing.

You might also have a look at free Adobe Ofc Suite which is compatible with Ofc and perhaps Works.

Read between the lines folks. If he has an icon for Microsoft Works, it is obvious he did NOT do a clean install. He upgraded, hence the problem.

When I copy my files back after clean install, MS Works icons give the same error message until I reinstall Works.

Wouldn't he still have Works if he in-place Upgraded?
