    Windows 7 - error code 0x8007045D?

I can's get past "error code 0x8007045D" while installing Windows 7. I'm working off the CD Disk that was sent to me. Any help?

Try booting the DVD, choose Custom install.

Who sent you the DVD? What does it say on it?

This is a disk read error which normally means the media is bad. Look for obvious scratches or dirt on DVD.

If you have already tried booting to install, try running from OS.

Then try copying the files to the desktop to run Setup.

I have tried a custom install but have been starting Windows 7 install after vista is running. Will try booting directly from CD.

I bought it from Academic Superstore. It is for Windows 7 Home Premium ugrade. I received both the 32 and 64 bit, but am installing the 32.

Well, it appears the simplest solution may work ... I cleaned my disk as there were some "smudges" and it copied to my hard drive and is not installing ... has already gone past the point it kept crashing at before. Thanks!

We'll have to remember to include that step since we usually rule out DVD if it is retail.

    Thanks for reporting back.
