Make a system image of what you have, put it on an external hard drive. Then try to restore with the DVD. If things go bad, just restore from the image that you had. You cannot lose.
    You just can't.

The CD i received is from ACER. It came with one with driver updates plus a Windows 7 DVD. How can I tell if this is a full version?
We received two Acer Upgrade kits here. The DVD is a clean copy of Win7 with an activation key. It can be used for a booted clean install as we have suggested.

After install, any drivers not delivered by Windows Updates can be loaded from Device Manager using the drivers/apps CD, along with favorite apps you want.

This is very valuable and thanks to MS requriing these manufacturers to provide a clean copy DVD instead of their usual recovery disks with bloatware. You can boot the DVD to do a Custom clean install with formatting.
