Windows 7: annoying note pad popup at log on

Hi All
this is my first post so please be gentle

i have tried most of the Windows 7 builds so far 7000 7022 7048 with no problems at all
downloaded and installed 7057 last night (fresh install)
all looks good except every time i boot/logon there is a open txt file on the desktop
the text has something about the shell version in it (cant be more specific as i am at work at the moment and not in front of the machine)

has anyone else encountered this minor annoyance ?
and how do you get rid of it ?
