I would like to know if I can switch from my 32 bit install to a 64 bit. These too installs are on the same license. So my final question is if doing it is possible?

As long as your hardware is all 64 bit compatible, you can do a clean install of 64 bit. This is the only way to switch from 32 to 64 bit.
